Do you struggle with imposter syndrome when it comes to treating pregnant patients?

Are you craving more information on how to better support patients on their entire journey from fertility through postpartum?

Did you learn everything NOT to do with pregnant patients in school, but     not HOW to properly care for them during pregnancy, birth or postpartum?

Does your fear of treating pregnant patients stop you from treating them?

Are you really great at treating fertility and helping your patients get pregnant, but then refer them out once they are expecting?

Pregnant Crystal & Deb

In over 20 years of practice, I've experienced the honor to treat patients from fertility through postpartum many times.  Sadly I've watched them return postpartum crying their eyes out in my office. This could've been because their birth did not go the way they had expected, whether that was an induction, c-section, a loss, or any other traumatic event. The truth is that there are so many factors to consider during pregnancy & birth, and families do not always have the right information, or even know what to ask for, or know what they'll need. Patients need a safe space to share their entire journey from fertility through postpartum and even into have a second, third, or fourth or more babies.  I cultivate this much needed space for my patients, starting with a very thorough intake and building a strong rapport with them. These are all skills required in this field that I share in my teaching.  There are so many women that need this kind of support, and there simply are not enough of me to support all of the pregnant mamas. This is why I need to share more of my knowledge with other acupuncturists!

I'm determined to teach you why "we" as acupuncturists play such an essential role in treating pregnancy and help you acquire all of the tools needed to feel confident in supporting patients throughout their entire journey of  pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Not only have I learned so much, but I now have a wider network of other perinatal professionals that I can always reach out to for more support and referrals. Licensed Acupuncturist

  • Dr. Deb Davies, DACM, L.Ac.

“Deb Davies has such a beautiful heart, learning about how to treat pregnant patients from her is worth my time and energy. She gives specific protocols, techniques, and shares ways to make the pregnant woman feel comfortable. Her experience and expertise is shared with a kind and caring presence while learning the material. One of my favorite aspects of the way she teaches is how she weaves stories in from working with her patients, and we learn how successful our medicine can be during pregnancy. Pregnant women clearly benefit from having acupuncture and being in the care of an acupuncturist during pregnancy. We should feel confident that we can improve our pregnant patients' experiences and outcomes throughout their whole journey: from fertility through post-partum, simply by being a vital member of her healthcare support community.”

    Licensed Acupuncturist

  • Dr. Deb Davies, DACM, L.Ac.

“Three things make Dr. Deb Davies' PUSH professionals mentorship so outstanding. The first is the level of detail she shares in how to perform different techniques that she teaches, the exact tools she uses and recommends, and in how to run your practice--from patient positioning and room setup and timeflow details as well as more business aspects of practice management. The second is her collaborative approach, bringing in experts in different areas to provide more detail or a different perspective than one person could do alone and encouraging you to collaborate with the group and with other healthcare providers. And the third is just how much she cares--she is invested in you, in birthing women and their care, and in all we can accomplish together. Highly recommend.”

    Licensed Acupuncturist

  • Dr. Deb Davies, DACM, L.Ac.

“In the PUSH Professional Mentorship program, I have gained practical tools to treat pregnant patients. And I am learning to connect with other healthcare providers to support pregnant patients. Dr. Deb has shared many resources during her lectures. I am going to need a lot of time to read and learn more from these amazing resources. On top of that, she invited other healthcare professionals to bring a wider perspective of understanding pregnancy. Lastly, Dr. Deb’s passion and energy keeps the subject engaging and relevant to our practice where you can learn the tools and immediately apply to your pregnant patients. It has been only 4 weeks and I am looking forward to the next 8 weeks to learn more about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.”

    Licensed Acupuncturist

  • Dr. Deb Davies, DACM, L.Ac.

“I was so worried about treating pregnant patients and thinking about all the things that could go wrong. I think going to school and even studying for boards, really scared me with all the warnings and cautions. I do really feel more comfortable now. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I'm no longer terrified.”

Testimonials from Past Patients and Colleagues

  • Dr. Deb Davies, DACM, L.Ac.

I wish I could give Deb 10 stars, that is how amazing she is! She has helped me through my entire fertility and pregnancy journey. My husband and I had been trying for about 6 months until I decided to go see her. She worked her magic, within a month and half of seeing her I was pregnant with twins. Then the worrisome thoughts creeped in as I was told my pregnancy was high risk. Deb was able to calm my nerves every session, helping me combat all the wonderful pregnancy symptoms, nausea, back aches, heartburn, carpal tunnel and more. She is super knowledgeable, friendly and personable. Deb truly listens to you and helps you through the journey every step of the way. I truly believe seeing her has helped me carry my twins to full term! I highly recommend seeing her at any point in your fertility/pregnancy journey she is a true gem.

    Patient

  • Dr. Deb Davies, DACM, L.Ac.

This review is LONG overdue as I started seeing Deb in February 2017. I think part of the delay was trying to figure out how to translate this emotional, physical, and mental healing experience into words. Deb is probably one of the most kind, genuine, patient, and understanding people that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I tell her often that she is my spirit mother! She has a real gift for teaching her patients about their bodies and how they work as she utilizes her skills to promote healing through acupuncture. I feel that for me, some of my healing and progress came not only through her knowledge of Chinese medicine, but through here mere presence of just being there and being present for whatever it is that I brought in that day, whether it was laughter or tears. She listens with empathy and possesses a real desire to help her patients, even if it means scheduling outside of normal clinic hours and/or giving you extra time in your session. You can tell that she seriously wants the best for her patients. She is also very knowledgeable about other resources and healers in the community and will freely recommend to help you have an integrative approach and achieve your health goals. I am very happy that I met Deb and decided to give acupuncture a try. This overall experience has been very meaningful and healing and I highly recommend her to anyone who needs healing, but ESPECIALLY women who are trying to conceive, pregnant mamas, and/or post-partum mamas. You won't be disappointed!

  • Dr. Deb Davies, DACM, L.Ac.

I attended Deb Davies' Childbirth Class, and it was fantastic. It was so full of relevant information, which Deb explained in such a way that people of all different levels of knowledge would understand. Deb's passion for caring for pregnant mothers and their babies comes through as soon as the class begins. I loved that she not only gave us concrete information that could be applied immediately in a practice, but we also got to work with pregnant mothers who came in for a treatment and apply them that very day! We worked in groups to account for the different levels of the participants in the class. As I am in acupuncture school now, I assisted a licensed acupuncturist, and was happy to practice the acupressure points that Deb taught us, as well as give a bit of massage, which the pregnant mama was all too happy to receive. Another great aspect of the class was the other participants - there were licensed acupuncturists, those of us in acupuncture school, massage therapists, doulas and midwives, and every person had a different perspective to receive and contribute to the information in the class. It was a great collaboration and a testament to Deb that several different areas of the healing/birth world were represented in the class. I highly recommend this class and will even consider reviewing it again in the future when I am licensed, as it is an incredibly interesting and fun way to gain CEU credits.

Deb Davies is a subject expert on being a Doula and Natural Child Birth. Her class was informative, instructive, and with a well-paced delivery of information for attendees. The real life experiences Ms. Davies related were insightful and carefully chosen to illustrate her points. Deb also gave us practical advice on the business of being a Doula. She generously shared materials such as “Questions to ask when interviewing prospective clients and the monetary contract for her Doula services.” It was an excellent CEU class taught by a true professional.
